What to expect
The Spreewald is a unique lacework of channels and canals hemmed in by dreamy forests and is the closest thing Berlin has to a backyard garden. It is the perfect destination for a get-away from the big city buzz. Experience the beautiful nature around the Spreewald river delta, visit the cute village of Lehde that is typical for this German region and get a taste of the famous local “Spreewaldgurken” (Spreewald gherkins).
We’ll kick off our trip with a relaxed walk to the boat station where we’ll embark on our canoe adventure along the small rivers and canals of Lübbenau. We will discover the small Spreewald village of Lehde by boat. You’ll have ample opportunities to take photos, enjoy the calm nature of the forest and village. Here we’ll visit a characteristic local restaurant where we grab some food and drinks to recharge our batteries. To round off our trip we visit the historic Lübbenau Castle grounds, before returning to Berlin.
